The shocking play between the cool/warm and the inverted/expected colors is really catchy for me. I fel the shadows under feet/couch don't work quite as well as the space on the couch, but that may be the wide negative space at the bottom.
It seems a while since you posted anything, but this was so worth waiting for. We have come to expect something special from you and this is just that - really special. I love the lighting and its effect on the various materials in the picture, almost a photo negative effect. A picture of this scale and detail need to be seen for real . . . one day I wish . . . .
Gorgeous. I am digging the reflective quality and style of her dress. Love how this transitions from real tones to that of a negative. If I hadn't already seen what you are capable of, I would have thought this was a photograph manipulation. Just brilliant. I love this!
Indeed, it is been a while. Never the less, i have been painting a lot, but it seems that i am not always that happy with the outcome. This painting kind a stood out, which is why i posted it. Simply curious for the comments. hahaha Thanks for commenting!
As always, the pleasure is all mine. It really is an interesting piece. Good for you to explore outside your comfort zone once in a while. Especially if this is the kind of thing you're going to come up with.
