Aside from that, or partially because of all that, I love this piece. It's like someone emerging from a cosmic womb, reborn. I like that the top half of the picture is on some sort of cosmic scale, like a nebula or somesuch, and the bottom half is like water dripping in a cave. Apologies if this makes no sense whatsoever; I find it hard to describe how amazing this is.

It has a bit of a spine-tingling atmosphere for me, as it looks exactly as you say- a jump in the dark- as if the person coming through is feeling blind and very vulnerable to the unknown before them.
